Number 4 Make a Silk Painting?
Painting on to fabric is quite different from painting on to other media. Silk is a lovely fine fabric to try this on ...
Step 01
Firstly, collect the materials you're going to use.
Click on the toolbox above to see a list of tools & materials you will need.

Lay the silk out flat and use the gutta to create a design or a picture on the silk fabric.

When you are satisfied with your design, begin to brush your silk paints onto the fabric.

Watch the paints mix and merge to create glowing colours. Watch how the gutta creates a barrier to the paints.

Look at the lovely bright painting created here. This is a still life of a bowl of fruit. The gutta used here was black. You can use this technique to create all sorts of pictures on silk.
